The jacket cover of a book I bought at the beginning of the 1970s of which I still own, having only recently re read the book in 2012 for first time! Jo Siffert one of the few pure racing drivers who drove in any circuit be it flat or otherwise that offered four wheel racing. Unfortunately the author of the book was coming to the finish of writing it when Jo Siffert died in a racing accident and this ironically closed the chapter as well as the end. However it was only by reading the book I realized what sort of bearing this man had on the film below!

When the people who produced the film Le Mans there was a cry out for a substantial amount of race cars be it a number the Porsche 911s of which Jo Siffert had a Porsche franchise as well some of the then current race cars such as the Porsche 917s etc and of course Siffert had a couple of those! On top of this the film company wanted to know if he knew any other race drivers as well as himself who could appear in the film, again he pulled in his race driver friends, so it looked very much like had Siffert not been around the film may not have been made?
