I suppose everyone who  buys a Porsche is probably down to "Boys with Toys", or a case of yearning for and never being in the position of purchasing  the car - well yes upto a point, as it was when I was around twenty/twenty one I had saved enough money to buy one, but taking parental advice - Dad - "You might be able to buy but you won`t be able to  afford to run it". Here endth my first and only opportunity till 2009 when I had enough of looking on the internet and saw this 964. Drove fifty miles to look at the car, as all blokes who like really good classic motors, just looked at,sat in it, got driven two miles up the road and back, and said I buy it. The first time I drove the car is when I drove it home!. It was that easy to sell me the car, but seeing I am writing this after  a year`s ownership and the car is still with me, tends one to realise that as far as I am concerned I made the right choice and really happy although it cost me a few quid on it`s first main service. However I always say and so does anyone else there is no such thing as a cheap Porsche, but look after it and it will look after you.

The 964 shape in Amazon green! If a little coloured blind like me comes out blue a majoirty of times -  areally nice shade.

Inside the 964 - marble leather seater coupled with "kelly" green carpet

One of the former owners started putting larger tyres on both fronts and backs than originally stated in the hand book - a bit of a dog on local road - a little bit more rubber than intended.

A nice classic shape where the spoiler only comes out when needed at normally 50mph.

When you buy a "classic" Porsche similar to this the first thing you have to do is fill up the tank as you are buying a little bit of history not a assembly line car where someone is  wanting you to purchase - hence sixty litres went in here!!

On the way home from the Wife`s car behind! Typical British road in this day and age with road works. With all the money being spent you would think things should be better not worse, probably something to do with allowing heavier vehicles on the roads as well. Almost better off on on the motorways even with the odd delay, hence I actually quite like driving on the M25!!!

Got the Porsche home in one piece after going the wrong way round the M25 - done it`s first week`s mileage in one day.

July 2009 - Photo shoot as you get to the Annual Porsche Club GB Day at Blenheim  Palace, a tenner or free if the Wife takes one.

A well shown picture above of what`s underneath and what can go wrong! sometimes..

The man on the right who got me interested in Porsche cars when I saw him in the film Le Mans in the early 1970s. Here Steve McQueen chats to Peter Revson in the Sebring 12 hour race in 1970.
